In a recent audience with Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google, Schmidt was reported to say that he was getting frustrated with the frequent questions he gets pertaining to the ranking algorithm that is being applied by Google. Among the many frequent questions, Schmidt reportedly keeps being asked why Google does not share its 200 factors when ranking.
To his recurring question, Schmidt disclosed that the reason why Google does not share its algorithm is that there is no solid factor in making their rankings. The idea is that the company frequently changes its algorithm, and they prefer not to announce the concept about how everything works because changes come quickly and they would rather not deal with all the pressure and examination that may come from the SEO community.
The company is also worried that if they share their exceedingly valuable algorithm, some SEO groups and online marketing communities might abuse it instead. It is a fact that there are a lot of individuals who may use the algorithm for personal gain instead of the good of the online community. Once the algorithm is published, some individuals who are up to no good may use and abuse the system.
What SEOs can do as of the moment is to keep on analyzing the different changes that Google makes as soon as they release updates. It is a good thing that the company does not often make intensive alterations with every update. Though continuous, the changes are done step by step which allows newcomers to learn as they progress. It is proposed for those who are relatively fresh to SEO to first harness the basic concepts of search engine optimization instead of going head on with new algorithms.
Preparing to master search engine optimization and online marketing will always be a challenge for users and companies. It is then a sign of a good SEO company to be able to adapt to the frequently changing Google algorithm and at the same time present results that are integral in the world of search engine optimization.
